COUPLE THERAPY

One of the few psychologists with specialized training and extensive experience in couple therapy, Dr. Huang completed a year-long post-doctoral fellowship in couple therapy accredited by the American Psychological Association, before serving as the sole full-time couple therapist in the Veteran Affairs Central Ohio Healthcare System. She has enjoyed using her expertise to help hundreds of couples of diverse identities (e.g., age, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, ability, marital status). Common goals that she helps couples achieve include: unpacking, understanding, and resolving conflicts (e.g., problems in communication, differences between you and your partner); enhancing intimacy—verbal, physical, and sexual; rebuilding or strengthening trust; adjusting to major life changes.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR ADULTS

Dr. Huang provides effective treatments that have been thoroughly researched, rigorously tested, and strongly supported by scientific evidence. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness-based techniques to ease stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, relationship problems, and difficulties related to cultural, LGBT, and military veteran identities.

Dr. Huang is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has lived in Taiwan, Beijing, and the Gobi Desert—as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mongolia. Her work is informed by her experiences as a therapist, as an educator, and as a volunteer supporting people of multicultural backgrounds, members of the LGBT community, military veterans and their partners, cancer patients and their family members, and more.
